Who Are We?
Association for Social Health in India (ASHI) is a Voluntary and Social Organization aiming at challenging those conditions that lead to exploitation of women and children for anti-social purposes. The Association is registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (No. 2558 dated 24.06.1996)
Provision of shelter for vulnerable children and arranging for their and other marginalised children’s education, vocational training and rehabilitation are one of the Association’s main activities.
The Governing Body and the Executive Committee are constituted of volunteers
What do we do?
Ashiana Children Home: We lovingly support under-privileged and vulnerable children in our Ashiana Children’s Home with tender, loving care. This home has been in existence since 1982. Initially it was lodged in rented accommodation. In 1993, the Government of Haryana provided a piece of land measuring 1000 square meters. A Fund Raising Drive was launched to construct premises of our own for the children. With the generosity of our donors, we have been able to complete the first and second phase of our project. . The State Government partly funds our project. The facilities provided to all children include boarding & lodging, education, recreation, medical care, clothing, salaries of staff and house maintenance.
Ananda Shiksha: Initially this project was undertaken for the children begging outside the temples but with time it has evolved into an after school programme for children to help the children with education and offer them an opportunity to spend their time constructively by channelizing their energies in the right direction. Various activities such as yoga, dance, drama, music, art craft etc. are undertaken for engaging the children for 3-4 hours daily. This programme has four branches – senior wing at GMPS-15 Panchkula, Junior wing at D.C. Model School Sector – 7 Panchkula and a free progress school for children from surrounding brick kilns and an evening after-school support for older children at village Kakkarmajra, NH 07. All the children are provided with nutritional refreshment daily at the end of the session
Shubharambh: Support classes in the morning school have been started at Ashiana, Sector -16 Panchkula for the benefit of students attending second shift school from nearby colonies inhabited by economically weaker sections of society.
Computer Learning Centres: Children from economically weaker sections of society are provided vocational training at five Computer Learning Centres
Three well-equipped laboratories are providing a 6 months Basic Computer Course including Soft-skills & English communication to students. Students also appear for CCC certification by NIELIT after course completion. A total number of 200+ children benefit from this programme annually.
We have established well equipped computer labs at three government schools in Sector 15, Panchkula; Budanpur, Sector 16, Panchkula and one GSSS Thapli, Morni Block, Panchkula. A total of 1000 school children are getting hands on computer learning experience.
Navchetna Women Empowerment Centre: ASHI provides vocational training based on a concept of ‘Earn While You Learn’ to the less resourceful women. Training in tailoring, candle making, hand-embroidery, knitting, beauty culture and wellness etc. is imparted.

- To efficiently run an institution that provides a secure home to children and nurtures them to be confident and responsible members of society.
- Supplement school education of underprivileged children by providing academic, extracurricular, financial and social support.
- To Provide pre-school facilities to children from economically weaker sections of society for integrating them in mainstream education.
- To impart professional and vocational training for enhancing employability of the youth and to support deserving students who wish to pursue professional education in institutions of higher learning.
- To empower women, socially and economically, by increasing their levels of general awareness and to provide them requisite skills that add to the sustainability of their families.
