We have established well equipped computer labs at three government schools in Sector 15, Panchkula; Budanpur, Sector 16, Panchkula and one GSSS Thapli, Morni Block, Panchkula. A total of 1000 school children are getting hands on computer learning experience.

Outcomes

  • Preparing 100% kids for formal schooling.
  • Making them good at Reading, Writing and Arithmetic.
  • Providing them strong foundation for intellectual growth.

A well-equipped Computer Learning Centre that caters to the needs of children from neighbouring urban slums has been established. In addition, there are many children studying in Government Schools who do not get access to computers in their parent institutions. Our Computer Centre caters to the needs of such children and has been providing basic training in computers and office automation to almost 80-100 children per year for the past 9 years.

Training is provided free of cost. Main objective is to train students to be proficient computer operators. The syllabus covers basically basics of computers and proficiency in MS Office to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc. Students are also familiarised with features of internet and made confident to access various websites and on-line transactions.

There are 25 computers available. Classes are held in three shifts. Chitkara Education Trust holds examinations and provides certifications. Many of our children have been able to find placements in industry as computer operators. We now plan to ensure that our children get certified qualifications from agencies like NIELIT and HARTRON that would enable them to apply for Government jobs as well. A one-year advanced diploma course under the auspices of Haryana Knowledge Corporation Ltd is being launched this year.

Two Computer Learning Centres – on each at Government Primary School, Sector 15, Panchkula and Government Middle School, Budhanpur have been established.
