ASHI Rural Center – Kakkar Majra

Overview

ASHI Rural Centre at Kakkar Majra, Haryana, was initiated in Jan 2022. It aims at providing early childhood education and care to 3-7 yrs age children and bridge school education and life skills to 8-14 yrs age group children of brick kiln workers residing in that area.

The work for brick kiln workers generally lasts for 8 months in a year and stops during monsoons and they return to their villages. Due to the migratory nature of their parent’s work, these children have no access to school education. Due to the lack of any formal education, such children are deprived of essential life skills.

Imparting essential knowledge and training to the said children can have a lasting impact on their lives even in an 8-month period .
